Unseen Helpers

You have opened up your microwave to heat up your popcorn. You have seen those ultrasound waves when you and your wife get the first glimpse of that little angle inside her womb. You know they are present in the radio when you listen to your favorite station, ask up about your favorite artists or request your favorite song. You know that a television works with it. Life would be so boring without this technology. But how much do you really know about waves and its waveguides? How much part of your life has taken advantage of the use of this technology?

Whether you are working in a cable company, a network provider, electronics or a radio station, these waves are of everyday use to you. Perhaps you have known about rectangular waveguide, or double ridge waveguides, or other kinds of them that help choose and recognize the waves to reflect on your equipment. Directing and guiding waves is its main purpose, so that communication and broadcast could be done freely and clearly without any other interruption. It is amazing how little apparatus could be a big thing to our everyday life. Technology is still evolving and many people are still trying new ways to use these waves and waveguides for development and progress. It is good to learn a thing or two about these things that has been our invisible helpers for a long time now!
