Offensive T Shirts At Bonfire
My son and his friends were planning on having a bonfire in our backyard last Friday night. The boys started to arrive slowly and I made sure to say hello to all of them. I was shocked to see that our neighbor boy Tim was wearing one of those offensive t shirts that a lot of kids are wearing these days.
The fact that Tim’s mother had recently gone to the school board about offensive reading material in the library, I figured that she had not seen this t shirt. I asked him where he had gotten his funny t shirt from and he told me that it was a gift from his girlfriend.
His girlfriend was one to be known to wear funny t shirts, but not offensive ones. I told my son that if he even thought about wearing an offensive shirt like that, he would be in trouble. My son told me that it is more when you get into college that you start wearing the funny t shirts like that and Tim was going to college in two months.
They both asked me not to tell Tim’s mother because we all knew she would be mad. I kept the secret of the t shirt, but did not feel good about it.
